Where is APCO-MS located?
Anywhere and everywhere.  APCO-MS covers the entire state of Mississippi, so we don't have an office in one particular location.  We have representatives in every major city in the state, so chances are there's an APCO-MS member near you.

When and where are meetings held?
Meetings are held in various places and times, in order to give as many members as possible a chance to attend.  Generally, the Board of Officers meets twelve times a year to handle the day-to-day operations of our chapter.  Three open sessions are scheduled each year (covering the northern, central, and southern districts) to give members a chance to catch a meeting close to where they live.  In addition to standard meetings, there are also opportunities for the membership to participate in conferences, educational opportunities, and other programs.

Is APCO-MS nonprofit?
Absolutely.  The proceeds from conferences, educational programs, advertising, and other income sources go back into the chapter in order to build and strengthen it and continue its goals.  The hard work performed by the Board of Officers and the membership at large is voluntary and unpaid.  We do what we do because we care about the public, and find our rewards in the good things we accomplish.

What can APCO-MS do for me?
APCO-MS does a lot for you and the agency you work for.  As the most respected name in public safety training, APCO helps keep you certified and skilled at the work you perform.  APCO works hard to identify and address its members' needs with APCO "Projects", a series of studies that help to create standards that make your job easier and more productive.  Your agency benefits from APCO services like Automatic Frequency Coordination, and can count on APCO as a strong voice in Congress as new technologies like wireless and Voice Over IP (VoIP) take hold.

An APCO membership makes you part of a worldwide organization of professionals who work together for the public good.  Your APCO membership card establishes you as a true professional dedicated to excellence in your field, as does the Professional Recognition Program.  With your membership comes the popular Public Safety Communications: APCO Bulletin that brings you the best in the newest technologies, latest public safety issues, and more.  You also get access to the APCO Institute, which offers high-quality training to you and your agency at the most affordable price.

But ultimately, the best reward you get from being an APCO-MS member is seeing the goals you achieve come to life.  You'll see the hard work APCO-MS does in your own community, improving public safety for your family, friends, and neighbors.  The pride of knowing you are part of an organization that does so many good things is the greatest reason to join APCO-MS.
