The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International is the world's oldest and largest not-for-profit professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of public safety communications.
With more than 17,000 members around the world, APCO International, Inc. exists to serve the people who manage, operate, maintain, and supply the communications systems used to safeguard the lives and property of citizens everywhere.
The Mississippi Chapter of APCO International, Inc., APCO-MS, focuses on the public safety professionals in our state, providing them with information and education to encourage their growth in their important occupation. Our work has the ultimate goal of saving more lives and property.
APCO also addresses the issues that our modern age presents to public safety, such as wireless emergency calls, Voice Over IP (VoIP), standardized training and education for public safety professionals, adequacy in staffing, radio frequency coordination, and much more. And we are a major force behind the legislation that keeps public safety services available to all.

Our organization consists of the membership at large, a Board of Officers that guides our future and sets our high goals, and an Executive Council Representative who represents our chapter on the International level. This group of dedicated people works hard to increase awareness of public safety issues and cooperation between public safety agencies, while working locally to improve public safety in your own area.
Both APCO-MS and its parent organization APCO International, Inc. are proudly nonprofit. Our rewards come from making the world a better and safer place.
